Etsy is a super cool web store for hand crafted items. You do have to join Etsy to buy there, but you can also sell there for a really low rate. Setting up shop there is close to free (20¢ per item). Selling is only a few percent commision from them and from PayPal. It is also really easy to set up a shop. I set up my shop in late 2007 and sold something quickly. Somehow, I just never got back to putting more pieces there. I was always working up an inventory for some other show or for the gallery. One of my 2009 New Year's resolutions is to keep at least 5 items on my Etsy store.
I am a member artist at a coop gallery in downtown Salt Lake City. I keep 8 to 10 items there. The Art at the Main page on my site just lists what is there, and the prices.
I am going to try to keep a list of my current inventory here. This will be a list of items that will appear at art fairs, at Art at the Main, or on Etsy. If you see something you really like, contact me and we can work something out.
Art Fairs and Sales: 2009
I am planning to take part in a few art fairs and art sales around Salt Lake City this year. I will list them here as I get firm dates.
- Fri., Nov. 27th and Sat., Nov 28th, 2009: CAU Holiday Pottery Sale
Sugar House Garden Center
1602 East 2100 South
Salt Lake City, Utah
I can definitely say that I will be there because I am the chair of the show. This is one of the best sales of pottery in Utah. Last year there were 28 potters and ceramic artists there. It was quite a show.
